Who We Are
The ACSC was born out of our church's desire to address the social needs of our community in ways that the Agape Church of God could not. Consequently, community minded persons met to organize and develop plans to operate an after-school program. In addition, the children would receive tutorial services, computer literacy and usage, in addition to recreational activities. A community needs assessment was conducted that confirmed the youth services identified by ACSC were greatly needed.

ACSC reached out to Hughes Hubbard and Reed LLP, who provided pro bono services that enabled ACSC to become a 501 (c) 3 not for profit tax exempt organization in 2001. Since then the organization has been on the long road to fulfilling its mission; "to provide holistic services to strengthen the community, while providing opportunities to transform and rebuild individuals and families".

Aligned to our mission is our vision; "to serve families, youth, seniors and the community through a safe nurturing environment with diverse programs and services that promote self-reliance and independence, comprehensive training and skill building". That process is promoted and being implemented.
